THE UNCOUNTED: POLITICS OF DATA IN GLOBAL HEALTH
ABSTRACT Sara L.M. Davis, Ph.D. (known as Meg) was the first senior advisor on human rights at the Global Fund, and a consultant for delegations on the Global Fund Board. Her new book, The Uncounted: Politics of Data in Global Health, draws on that insider experience, ethnographic research with community-based groups, interviews with leaders in global health, and on analysis of policies and mathematical models, to explore why the world is currently off track in the race to end HIV. The Uncounted humanizes high-level debates over indicators and data in health aid, showing how they are used to make life-or-death decisions.
