ABSTRACT In West and Central Africa, where the COVID-19 epidemic is spreading, civil society organizations implementing Global Fund grants are organizing the community response. They are coordinating information and awareness-raising on protection, distribution of hygiene kits, and reconfiguring the available care on offer at health facilities and the protection of caregivers. They also rely on the community networks of young women and neighborhood associations.

ABSTRACT Since the Kenya Red Cross Society became a principal recipient for an HIV grant in 2011, the grant has been consistently rated A1 or A2. This article describes the reasons for the society’s success.

RÉSUMÉ Dans ce deuxième article de notre série sur les problèmes d’absorption, nous examinons les problèmes qui surviennent au niveau des pays. Les crédits périmés sont généralement le résultat de retards de décaissement. Les décaissements tardifs, quant à eux, peuvent résulter de problèmes de capacités en ressources humaines, de difficultés liées aux achats, de lacunes au niveau de la collecte et de l’analyse des données, ou encore de la mauvaise construction d’installations utilisées pour les activités liées au Fonds mondial.

Among the main achievements of this reform: the size of the CCM was reduced by half, conflict of interest regulations were written, and a system of rotation of members was put in place to prevent them from staying too long in their positions.

ABSTRACT There are (or were) a number of significant deficiencies in the financial management control framework of Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) PRs and SRs in Cameroon, concludes the OIG in a recent report. Many of the OIG's recommendations have already been addressed.
