Global Fund’s new HIV and TB multicountry grants in Eastern Europe and Central Asia begin implementation
ABSTRACT
Two multicountry Global Fund grants in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, for TB and HIV, were approved in December 2018 by the Global Fund Board, for a total of $18 million. Implementation began on 1 January 2019, but there is lingering concern among applicants regarding the effectiveness of the competitive approach prescribed by the Global Fund for the application process. A member of one of the applicant organizations, the Eurasian Harm Reduction Association, reports on some applicants' concerns.

Bosnia and Herzegovina hope that low prevalence means low risk
ABSTRACT
Bosnia and Herzegovina will from December 2015 become ineligible for Global Fund financing, presenting a risk to a number of programs that the government has said it may be incapable of finding budgetary resources for. This could have an impact on currently low sero-prevalence rates nationwide, particularly within certain vulnerable populations such as the migrant Roma who live in poverty in informal settlements around the country.
Funding Approved for Phase 2 of HIV Grant in Bosnia and Hercegovina
ABSTRACT
The Global Fund Board has approved Phase 2 funding for a Round 9 HIV grant in Bosnia and Hercegovina. Phase 2 will see a greater focus on high-impact interventions and most-at-risk populations, as well as on human rights activities.
