RÉSUMÉ
Le 12 novembre 2018, le Conseil d’administration du Fonds mondial a approuvé des financements d’une valeur de 98,0 millions de dollars pour 14 subventions provenant de 13 pays. Il a également approuvé deux subventions multipays d’une valeur de 12,5 millions de dollars et affecté 13,6 millions de dollars au financement d’interventions placées sur le registre des demandes de qualité non financées. Cet article fournit des renseignements sur le nombre de demandes de financement traitées, le nombre de subventions approuvées ainsi que les détails des commentaires du Comité d’approbation des subventions sur deux des subventions approuvées, celle du Monténégro et celle du Niger. Of the $98 million in country grants approved by Global Fund Board from 2017-2019 allocations, Latin America and Caribbean receive $57 million
ABSTRACT
Of the $98 million approved by the Global Fund Board on 12 November 2018 for 14 country grants from 13 countries, $57.8 million went to countries in the Latin America and Caribbean region. This article repeats some of the overall grant approval information discussed in the first article on grant approvals in this issue, summarizes the LAC grants, and gives some detail on the Grant Approval Committee’s comments about the new grants for Belize, El Salvador, Panama and Paraguay.
Global Fund Board approves another $98 million in country grants from the 2017–2019 allocations
ABSTRACT
On 12 November 2018, the Global Fund Board approved funding in the amount of $98.0 million for 14 country grants from 13 countries. The Board also approved two multi-country grants valued at $12.5 million and awarded $13.6 million to fund interventions on the Register of Unfunded Quality Demand. This article provides information on the number of funding requests processed, numbers of grants approved, and details of the Grant Approvals Committee’s comments on two of the approved country grants: Montenegro and Niger. Details on comments for four other grants are described in another article in this issue.
Global Fund grant will expand HIV prevention, care and treatment services for key populations in Guyana
ABSTRACT
When it reviewed Guyana’s HIV program continuation funding request, the Technical Review Panel said that the request built on lessons learned from Guyana’s most recent programming for key populations. Issues raised by the panel were either fully or at least partially addressed during grant-making. The Global Fund Board recently approved funding for the HIV grant.

ABSTRACT
A social contracting diagnostic tool developed in Latin America and the Caribbean is being used during transition planning to assess whether civil society organizations are able to use government resources to continue providing prevention, treatment and care services to key and vulnerable populations.
OIG RELEASES REPORTS ON THREE INVESTIGATIONS
ABSTRACT
The Office of the Inspector General has identified expenditures that were not compliant with the grant agreements in three separate investigations. The amounts involved ranged from $56,966 for a malaria grant in Guyana to $311,637 for a TB grant in Bangladesh. The third country was India, where the OIG found non-compliant expenditures of $97,149 in a TB grant.
