GLOBAL FUND-SUPPORTED HIV PROGRAM AND SUPPLY-CHAIN MANAGEMENT IN ZIMBABWE REQUIRE IMPROVEMENTS, OIG SAYS
ABSTRACT The Office of the Inspector General's fourth audit of Global Fund grants to Zimbabwe rates the HIV program and supply-chain management as 'partially effective’. Despite the progress Zimbabwe has made in the fight against HIV, the OIG noted anomalies in HIV data and poor performance in HIV testing, especially viral-load testing and testing for infants. Also, the OIG noted low storage capacity at the central warehouse, which has hindered good inventory management.
