ABSTRACT In 2002, Bernard Rivers set up Aidspan as an independent voice that would explain the new Global Fund to the world and would push it to be transparent and accountable for the vast amounts of money it was handling. He describes Aidspan’s role as being that of an affectionate but demanding friend, reporting more good than bad.
