The Global Fund Board has approved up to $100 million for use on special initiatives and $200 million for regional programs during the 2014-2016 period, a sum that excludes the $116 million already committed to early applicants under the new funding model (NFM).
Global Fund Board awards $53.3 million to three more interim applicants

Funding of up to $53.3 million was approved for three interim applicants under the new funding model, bringing to 40 the number of applicants awarded interim funding of 48 invited to apply when the transition phase of the new funding model was launched.
Revised Eligibility Policy Retains the Main Elements of the Old Policy

The revised eligibility policy adopted by the Global Fund Board retains most of the main elements of the old policy. However, under the revised policy, countries that become newly ineligible will benefit from a new transition provision. Further work will be done on the transition modalities.
