ABSTRACT Six of the seven civil society members of the Moldova country coordinating mechanism have appealed to the Global Fund Secretariat to intervene in a decision of the CCM on budget allocations and implementation arrangements for an HIV funding request that Moldova submitted in March 2017. The Secretariat has declined to intervene. Moldova is trying to cope with a 43% reduction in its allocation.

ABSTRACT Using the Global Fund’s data service, Aidspan takes a look at which countries received increases in their total allocations of 50% or more, as well as the top 20 countries with the largest allocations for each of the three diseases in this 2020-2022 cycle (Mozambique, India and Nigeria for HIV, TB and malaria, respectively).

ABSTRACT At the most recent Global Fund Board meeting held in Geneva in May 2019, the Board approved a Decision Point updating the Allocation Methodology for the 2020-2022 allocation period, but asked the Strategy Committee to review and approve the Qualitative Adjustments process. Qualitative adjustments are the final step in the allocations process, tailoring allocations-by-formula to specific country contexts and issues. The July Strategy Committee meeting will finalize and approve the process, as requested by the Board.
